At Duchess Nursery we give the very best support to each child. Our adaptable routine gives us the flexibility to create the time we need to dedicate to a variety of activities indoors and out, if we feel they are beneficial to the children’s enjoyment and development. We do, however, maintain regular routines to assist the settling process and to give reassurance to those who need it.
Our children play in a range of situations from 1:1 and small group to large group and whole nursery; this provides mutual benefits where the younger ages learn from their observation of the older ones whilst the older children take pride in responsibility and helping the little ones. Time is also set aside for the children to participate in age-related activities with their peers.
Each child has a key member of staff who supports their family during the transition into the nursery and beyond allowing for the tracking of development and progress, making sure each child is getting the opportunities they need to reach their full potential. Focused group activities led by the key staff mean that more defined learning opportunities or greater direction, support or extension can be given within the daily routines.
